This was made as a birthday gift for my boyfriend’s daughter, who was turning 18. She wanted pink, so I gave her a few palettes to pick from and she chose thsee colors. I told her the design had to be a surprise, and I found a lovely pattern. The pattern is from Bernat, and I found it in a pamphlet called “Around the Seasons“, and the name of the pattern itself is called “Gentle Waves”. I believe it is the third or fourth pattern in the pamphlet. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! If you could see it in person, you’d see how gorgeous it truly is!
The smaller blanket pictured here was made using leftover yarn from the bigger blanket. I suppose I was a bit over-cautious when I ordered the yarn for the larger afghan! I made it for the 3 year old little half-sister of my boyfriend’s daughter. I just call it “Little Sister”. No pattern was used, just basic stitches. The center was done as Corner-to-Corner (or C2C), and from there it was all just random. The young girl really loved having a blanket with colors that match her big sister’s blanket! I only left out the sand colorHer Mama told me she naps with it EVERY day now!
How sweet that they have blankets in matching colours. 😊
