Crochet Sun Hats 2015

These three are sun hats I made for babies. The yellow one fits a child about 12 -18 months old, and the green one and pink one I made to fit my 6-month-old twin nieces, but should fit them for at least a year. They were very simple to make, but I had no pattern to follow. I just made a basic hat, and increased stitches for the brim. And I added a simple flower to each one.

Because of the simplicity, it would be easy to adapt to larger sizes. A friend of mine actually asked if I could make an adult one for her, using a thin cotton yarn in variegated shades of purple. She sent me two different skeins of yarn, and didn’t know which skein I’d like to work with, so I made her two hats! LOL Because she is modelling the hats, and for privacy reasons, I have hidden her face in the pictures here. However, you can still see how the hats turned out adult-sized.
